  • 1 Mammoth or horses nose
  • 1 pie crust (or pastry) 
  • 1 egg, beaten.
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter.(plus more for greasing the pan)
  • 3/4 cup whole milk (2% or higher).
  • 6 tablespoons white sugar.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  • 1 large handful of brown sugar (light or dark).
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon.
  • 3 small apples. (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 1 “cup” of raisins.
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted.

Directions for the mammoth snout pie recipe

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease a 9-inch pie plate with butter and sprinkle some flour on it.

Step 2: In a large bowl, mix together the milk, sugar, salt, egg (beaten), melted butter, cinnamon, and raisins. And blend well.

Step 3: Brush the interior of the pie plate with melted butter. Roll out your pie crust (or pastry) and put on the pie plate.  Pile the mixture in the pie plate and fit the crust/pastry up around it. Seal the edges with a fork.

Step 4: Brush any remaining butter on top of the pie and sprinkle some more cinnamon on top.

Let the pie crust or pastry bake for 15 minutes uncovered,  then cover with a pie lid or aluminum foil and bake it for an additional 20 minutes.

Step 5: Serve the pie hot by slicing it off and digging out the mammoth snout from the pie and serving it with it.
